However, keeping all things aside, there is an annoying error, which several users are reporting. The error named Discord Screen Share Audio not Working. So today, we are going to talk about ways which can fix this annoying issue.
Before that, Here are some causes of Audio not working in Discord Screen Share:
While writing down this troubleshooting article for you, we checked a few cases and we found out that this error was caused due to many reasons. These reasons are Bad Audio Drivers, Not granting Administrative Access, Application issues, etc.
Method 1. Try giving elevated access:
In case you want to get rid of this error, you need to grant administrative rights to Discord. There was a time when the Screen Share with the audio feature was launched and let me tell you that Discord worked ideally without any issues at all. But, since this feature means that additional resources will be utilized for your PC which also has privacy concerns, there are several cases where the application will not be able to work in a normal mode. So let’s try to fix it, all you need to do is follow the below-mentioned steps.
First of all, you need to press Windows and E keys simultaneously to open the File Explorer.
After that, you need to find the directory where Discord is installed on your computer system.
Please remember that the default install location is inside Local Disk C’s Program Files.
After you are done with the above-mentioned step or you are in the installation directory, you need to right-click on the application’s executable and then select Properties.
Now when you are in Properties, you will have to click on the Compatibility tab and then check the option to Run as an administrator.
Here, you need to hit the Apply to save changes and exit.
At last, you need to try running Discord again to check if the error is solved or not.
Method 2. Add your activity:
People who use Discord know that it automatically detects which activity you are performing and works accordingly. But, there are some examples where this is not the case which can lead you to face Discord Screen Share Audio not Working error.
First of all, you need to open the Discord application and then go to its Settings.
After that, you need to click on the entry of games at the left search bar.
Now you have to go to Game Activity and you need to add the application in which the audio is not sharing properly while sharing the screen.
When you add the application, you can easily focus on the screen using the application.
Note- You also need to ensure that during this process, you are not running Discord as an administrator.
Apart from that, you also need to see that any one of your other “games” listed in Game Activity is running. In case the game and application are already there, you have to remove them from the list.

Method 3. Avoid full screen:

Hence, to fix this error, the first thing that you need to do is to use the application/game in a minimized format.
Note- You also need to ensure that you reboot your computer system before using this solution. Also, you can easily change the settings inside the game and set the video option to Windowed mode. Apart from that, you can easily adjust the sides in applications.
Method 4. Try reinstalling audio drivers:
You know folks, audio drivers are the major components that connect the hardware to your computer with the operating system and in it, the applications like Discord. There are several users who reported this issue just because of bad or outdated drivers. If your driver is old and outdated, the application may not transmit the audio properly with the screen share utility. To get rid of this error, you need to do is:
First of all, you need to press Windows and R simultaneously and then type “devmgmt.msc” in the dialogue box and hit the Enter button.
When you reach the device manager, you need to expand the category of Audio inputs and outputs, and then right-click.
Here, you also need to right-click on the sound hardware and then select the Uninstall device.
Here in this step, you have to right-click on the screen (wherever you want) and then you need to select Scan for hardware changes. After that, your computer system will not scan for any hardware not installed and will find the sound module. This automatically will install the default drivers.
When you are done with the process of installing the default drivers, you need to reboot your PC. After that, you need to utilize the Screen Share utility.
At last, you need to check if the issue is solved or not. If it is, then well and good, however, it is not, then you have to update the drivers.
Here is how you can update the driver:
You need to right-click on the driver and then select Update Driver. You can also utilize the Windows Update to update the driver.
However, if the error still persists, you need to go to the official website of your manufacturer and download the latest drivers from there.
After that, you will have to install the executable and the latest drivers will be installed.

Solution 5: Clear discord cache, roaming data:

First thing first, you have to exit Discord and then close all the running processes of Discord through Task Manager.
You have to press the Windows key and then type Run. After that, you will see a resulting list, and you need to click on Run to bring up the Run command box.
Here, you will have to type or copy-paste the %appdata% command in the Run box.
This will lead you to the Roaming folder of AppData, and you will have to navigate to the folder named Discord and then right-click on it and select Delete.
At last, all you need to do is reboot your computer system, then open the Discord to check if the issue is solved or not.
Method 6: Try reinstalling and updating Discord:
So in this method, you can do two things- one is to wait for the stable version to release or the second is to reinstall the entire application. To do that, you need to follow the steps down below:
First of all, you need to press Windows and R keys simultaneously. After that, in the dialogue box, you have to type “appwiz.cpl”. Now you need to press the Enter button.
When you enter the application manager, you need to navigate to the entry of Discord and then you have to right-click on it and at last select Uninstall.
After following the above-mentioned step, you have to restart your computer system. Once done, you have to go to Discord’s website and download the client fresh to an accessible location.
After that, you will have to install the application and restart your PC yet again to see if the error is gone or not.
